Editorial Manager™ (EM) is the online system for the management of papers submitted to International Materials Reviews (IMR). Authors may submit papers, and track their progress, at all stages, 24 hours a day; Reviewers can download assigned papers and submit their comments and recommendations online. To upload a manuscript to the site, you must have received an invitation to contribute from one of the Editors. Unsolicited manuscripts cannot be uploaded. Prospective authors should, in the first instance, submit an outline and extended synopsis for comment by the Editorial Board, using the standard template that can be downloaded here Please consult the information below before proceeding. If you require further guidance, please contact: imr.ed@materials.org.uk IMR is published by Maney Publishing on behalf of
The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and ASM International. ![]() |
UK Editor: Professor Philip J Withers (University of Manchester, UK). |
AUTHORSPlease read the following information before proceeding: IMR publishes authoritative, critical reviews of the literature, and leading edge reviews covering rapidly developing areas. Further details may be found in the Notes for Contributors. Although most contributions to IMR are commissioned, the Editors welcome unsolicited proposals, which should be emailed to the UK Editor, Professor Philip J Withers, or the US Editor, Professor K K Chawla. The proposal should include a 500 word abstract, an outline (section headings and estimated word count), and a biographical note, and must be submitted using the standard template that can be downloaded here. This information should be provided even if a complete manuscript is being submitted. A brief justification of the timeliness and relevance of the review may also be helpful to the Editors in reaching a decision. Please be sure to consult the Notes for Contributors, including the Journal Statement on our publishing policy, before submitting your paper. Remember:• DO NOT include figures in your manuscript file: upload figures separately. (This does not apply if your initial submission is in PDF format.) • DO NOT use Word for figure formatting - use accepted figure formats such as .tif • TAKE CARE to ensure that labels and legends in figures and tables are checked for accuracy and spelling: correction work may delay the processing of your paper. Forms:1. Agreement to pay for colour illustrations. This form is required if you wish to have colour illustrations published in IMR. Instructions and assistance:1. Instructions for Authors: Essential guidelines for preparing manuscripts prior to submission. 2. Tutorial for Authors: Detailed instructions regarding the electronic submission process. |
